Master Class at CalArts
Jeff recently taught a master Class at CalArts on songwriting and wrote with Mike Miller and Kevin Ahart in Austin, TX. Kevin and Jeff have been co-writing many songs for his upcoming CD.
Elvis Blue Nominated For Best Song - MK Awards
Jeff just got back from a successful writing trip to LA writing for Elvis Blue’s upoming CD. Jeff’s song Lighthouse, which was recorded by Elvis Blue in South Africa is nominated for best song for the MK awards. It is South Africa’s MTV awards.
Upcoming Releases
Jeff’s song Save Me recently was recorded by The Osmonds. Some of his other upcoming releases are Caroline Rhett, Vojtas (Czech Republic), Cathi Ogden, Everyday Child Foundation CD which includes Shawn Colvin’s version of When You Know, and Elvis Bliue.
Taken By Surprise
Jeff's CD Taken By Surprise will be released in early November. It features his jazz quintet as well as his original compositions. Stay tuned where the CD can be purchased.
Save Me At #3
Jeff's song Save Me went to #3 radio in South Africa this month with Elvis Blue. He will be writing with Elvis for his upcoming CD project.
The Countrypolitan Duets Project In Bullhead, AZ
Jeff will be performing with The Countrypolitan Duets project in Bullhead, AZ. on November 17th and Rancho Santa Fe on Nov. 18th at The Fellowship Hall at Village Church. He will be performing in Napa at The Silos Jazz club on December 2nd as well as The Silver Oaks Winery on December 3rd.
Jazz Quartet at Cezanne
Jeff's jazz quartet will be performing in Houston at Cezanne on December 9th and at Ovations with Jane Vandiver on December 11th. He will also be conducting songwriter workshops as well.
Jeff In London
Jeff is in London from June 4th-10th and will be performing at The Piazza Express jazz club this Sunday from 7:15-8:00 playing solo piano and accompaning Kevin Ahart. He will also be recording at Air Studios with Kevin for an Acura/Panasonic commercial which will be produced by Elliott Sheiner on June 8th and 9th. Jeff will be recording 3 of his original compositions with Kevin and a jazz quintet.

On June 11th Jeff will be performing at The Grand Ole Opry with Anna Wilson and The Countrypolitan Duets project.

Jeff will be performing with Kevin Ahart on Monday May 2nd and 9th at the Metropolitan Room at 9:30. The club is located at 34 W22nd st. between 5th and 6th Ave. Kevin has a smooth sound like Bing and will be recording Jeff's song as a duet with Jane Monheit for his upcoming CD.
GoodDay New York And Countrypolitan
Jeff will be appearing on GoodDay NY this coming Tuesday April 5th at 10:00 AM performing a song with Anna Wilson and Matt Dusk from The Countrypolitan project.
The CD is being released on April 5th and Jeff arranged country standards in a jazz style. Anna Wilson sang a number of duets featuring Keith Urban, The Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Larry Carlton and Ray Price. Jeff will also be performing at Joe's Pub on April 27th with Anna Wilson who will be opening for Canadian artist Matt Dusk. He will also be featured with Anna Wilson and Monty Powell on the same day for a CBS radio performance.

Jeff's song Lighthouse is #8 this week on the South African charts by artist Elvis Blue.
Gig at Cezanne - Houston
On May 20th Jeff will be back performing at Cezanne in Houston with his quartet and on May 20th he will be at Ovations with Jane Vandiver.
Work With Kevin Ahart
Jeff co-produced a song for Kevin Ahart in Austin last week and wrote a couple of songs for his CD project.

Jeff will be appearing at The Metropolitan Room on Saturday, February 26th at 9:30 with Allissa Crea. He will be performing with Chip Jackson on bass and Rick Cutler on drums. The club is located at: 34 W 22nd between 5th and 6th Ave. There is a $20 cover and reservations are strongly advised. Allissa will be performing some of my compositions as well as standards.

Recording An Album
Jeff just recorded a CD with his quintet at Bennett studios and hopefully will be released this spring.

Jeff will be be conducting a songwriters master class at CalArts on January 20th, 21st, 24th and 25th in Los Angeles.

Jeff will be performing at The Meadowood resort in Napa Valley on December 4th with Monty Powell and Anna Wilson.

Jeff will be working with the Beacon High School songwriters at The Bitter End on December 15th at 6:30. He has been mentoring the students for the past 5 years and has been a very rewarding experience.

Jeff will be performing in Houston at Cezane's Jazz club on January 14th with a jazz trio and Ovation with Jane Vandiver.

Jeff Franzel will be performing with Sean Smith at the 5C on September 18th. The band will be featuring Chris Infusino on drums and will be performing songs from Sean's upcoming CD. The CD includes Randy Brecker, Chuck Loeb and Gerald Albright.

Grand Ole Opry Show
Jeff will be performing at the Grand Ole Opry on November 16th and will featuring Anna Wilson. She will be performing duets with Larry Carlton, Matt Giraud, Connie Smith and Billy Dean. Jeff is the musical director for the project which also features Keith Urban, The Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and Kenny Rogers. He helped arrange country standards in a jazz style.
Opening For Livingston Taylor
Jeff Franzel will be opening for Livingston Taylor on September 6th at the Shalin-liu performance center in Rockport, MA, accompanying Ayla Brown. He will also be featured with the Jake Pardee trio. Ayla will be singing Jeff's song My Favorite Part which will be her first single to be released this fall.

Jeff will be appearing at The 5C Cafe this September 18th with bass player Sean Smith at 8:00pm. The club is located at: 68 Ave. C and E 5th street.
